WESTONS CIDER EXTENDS CRAFTED OFFERING WITH LAUNCH OF NEW ‘HENRY WESTONS AGED FINISH’
- Westons launches new Henry Westons variant to offer crafted cider-drinkers more choice
- Henry Westons Aged Finish joins Henry Westons Vintage – the UK’s number one glass bottle apple cider
- At a lower ABV, Henry Westons Aged Finish will broaden appeal for crafted cider
Westons Cider is adding to its successful Henry Westons brand with the launch of Henry Westons Aged Finish.
The premium cider-producer is aiming to broaden appeal for its category-leading brand and leverage the success of number 1 traditional crafted cider, Henry Westons Vintage – now worth £38 million*, with its new offering.
Henry Westons Aged Finish is a bright and sparkling medium dry cider, aged for up to 180 days to ensure a deep flavour and rich, long finish.
The latest addition to the range is available in 500ml glass bottles – exclusively in the off-trade – and offers traditional crafted cider drinkers the classic smooth and well-rounded flavour of Henry Westons, at a lower ABV of 6.5%.
The launch follows Westons Cider’s ramped up investment in its category-leading Henry Westons brand over the summer sales period for the third consecutive year. This comes as the cider-maker pursues ambitious growth plans and seeks increased market share.
“Henry Westons is the benchmark for the highest quality, best tasting traditional crafted cider and continues to go from strength to strength,” says Tim Williams, Henry Westons Brand Manager.
“With a great depth of flavour and a lower ABV, Henry Westons Aged Finish is an accessible cider that will broaden appeal for traditional crafted liquids across a wider consumer base and help us tap into a younger, even more discerning audience.
“Glass bottle cider accounts for more than £1 in every £3 spent in the off-trade and this format continues to grow by +2.4% year on year.
“By adding a new variant to our category-leading brand, we further cement it as a ‘must-stock’ for the convenience and grocery retail channels, reinforcing the £38 million brand’s position as the UK’s number one glass bottle apple cider.” concludes Williams.
Run by the fourth generation of the Westons family, Westons Cider has been producing premium quality cider from its mill in Herefordshire since 1880. Westons Cider also produces brands Stowford Press, Rosie’s Pig and Mortimer’s Orchard.
Henry Westons Aged Finish will launch from mid-September.
