SUPERSTATION CELEBRATES ITS CHAMPIONS

Forecourt champions, sponsors and leading industry suppliers gathered for the 7th Annual SuperStation Gala Awards Dinner on Thursday 11th October at the Forest of Arden Marriott Hotel & Country Club.

Certas Energy’s award-winning initiative, designed to drive-up forecourt standards across the UK, is open to around 800 Gulf and Pace branded forecourts, with each finalist chosen following a rigorous judging process which considers elements such as forecourt appearance, diversity of product offering, customer service, innovation in business strategy and generally setting a benchmark standard for the industry.

Among the winners was Prospect Road Service Station, which won Best Gulf Site and was applauded for its impressive roadside presence, matched by its levels of presentation, customer service, facilities and commitment to the local community.

After collecting the award, Roger Perry said: “With such strong competition, we are humbled to have won and dedicate this achievement to all of our hard-working staff. We’ve invested considerably to provide our customers with a full facility forecourt and shop but it’s the tireless efforts of our team who make this possible.”

“I’m so happy for every one of our team,” said Sue Jackson of John Grose Garage, which was awarded ‘Best Forecourt Team’. “Every day we aim to deliver the very best service and put a smile on the faces of people. We are the best team ever and now we have the recognition to prove it.”

Tanerdy Garage, a frequent SuperStation finalist over the years, took home the prize for Best Community Engagement. The family run business undertakes a range of local sponsorships and extensive social media campaigns, as well as volunteer work for the local Stroke Association. It recently launched a home delivery app and has over 2500 subscribers to a card loyalty scheme.

Proprietor Stephen Smith was delighted to claim the gong on behalf of his team: “This is a fantastic accolade and I accept this on behalf of the local youngsters who work at Tanerdy and every day demonstrate the very best work ethics and prove through their talent and personalities, their competency to run a successful business. Not everyone is suited to university or college, and sometimes it feels that unless you do you are considered a failure. Tonight’s award is fitting recognition for our young people and what they can achieve when provided with an opportunity and given the support to shine.”
