Summertime and the living is cheesy…popchips introduce Cheddar & Jalapeno to its core range of healthy snacks

This July, popchips, the Better for You snack brand, launches the latest flavour to its ever-growing portfolio of popped chips, Cheddar & Jalapeno.  The latest flavour to join popchips’ core range, Cheddar & Jalapeno, answers increasing consumer demand for bold, punchy flavours. Featuring the deep, familiar taste of mature cheddar cheese, coupled with the tickling spice of jalapeno chilies, the new flavour packs a punch without the greasiness, fat content and calories of other snacks on the market.Cheddar and Jalapeno

The launch of Cheddar & Jalapeno comes as the brand celebrates selling 2.6m bags of chips in the last four weeks, boasting 44.7%[1] growth in sales versus this same period last year and establishing popchips as the most successful brand launch in the bagged snacks category over the last ten years[2].

Currently available from Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose, Cheddar & Jalapeno will be available in the 85g share-bag format with an RRP of £1.99. Totally gluten free, and just 95 calories per serving, the new flavour is the perfect calorie controlled snack, complimenting the Department of Health’s latest consumer campaign which encourages consumers to look for snacks containing 100 calories or less.

Will Bowler, Managing Director at popchips UK commented: ‘We believe popchips has continued to enjoy year on year success because we genuinely deliver great tasting snacks, but without the unnecessary fat and calories in other snacking products. Making a healthy choice doesn’t mean making a sacrifice in flavour or enjoyment and I believe we’re the only brand to consistently deliver on this promise. Cheddar & Jalapeno is the latest in an exciting pipeline of flavours and product development we have lined up for 2018 and beyond.’
