JUUL and WH Smith Travel agree partnership to help adult smokers Make the Switch

JUUL, the USA’s best-selling vaping technology, which launched in the UK in July 2018, has agreed an innovative new partnership with WH Smith Travel stores to help more adult smokers make the switch from cigarettes.

The deal will see a core range of JUUL products stocked across over 200 WH Smith Travel stores including train stations, motorway services and airports from 24th June.

John Patterson, Sales Director of JUUL Labs UK comments “Our mission is to get the UK’s 7.4 million smokers to improve their lives by switching from tobacco and ultimately eliminating cigarettes. Seven out of ten adult smokers want to quit or cut down on cigarettes with 84% of them using e-cigarettes as part of their switching journey.”

“Smoking rates continue to decline year on year, but smoking is still the largest single cause of preventable death in the UK and we must do all we can to help adult smokers switch to less harmful alternatives.  WH Smith is one of the leading travel retailers in the UK with millions of commuters and holidaymakers passing through its stores on a weekly basis. Our agreement with WH Smith in travel environments will bring more adult smokers into the vape category and help improve their lives and the lives of those around them.”

Martha Springham, Tobacco Category Buyer for WH Smith says “Tobacco is a key category for WH Smith but over the past year we have seen a marked increase in vape category sales as more smokers make the transition to vape products. As a leading retailer in travel, we must keep abreast of all major trends and provide a solution for our vape customers and, given the brand’s remarkable success in the U.S., we see JUUL as a leading player in the vaping category moving forward.”

WH Smith Travel stores will be stocking the following JUUL products: Starter Kit, Golden Tobacco, Glacier Mint, Mango Nectar and Apple Orchard in 18mg/ml nicotine strengths.
