Essar car wash raises funds at Loggerheads
To celebrate the official opening of the latest Essar branded station at Loggerheads, in North Wales, members of the company’s Retail Team took part in a successful three-hour car wash at the site last Friday to raise funds for the NEWSAR charity.
NEWSAR is a volunteer Search and Rescue (Mountain Rescue) Organisation operating in North East Wales and mainly covers the counties of Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Wrexham, Powys and parts of Wirral and Cheshire. Their mission statement says: “To provide the Police, Ambulance Service and local communities with a highly competent search and rescue capability that can be deployed swiftly, safely and effectively 24 hours a day, 365 days per year”. A representative from NEWSAR was there on the day with one of their search and rescue trucks.
The Essar Retail Team members (James Hughes, Territory Manager; Amit Goyal, Marketing Manager; Boris Amado, Business Development Manager and Emily Macknay, Sales and Marketing Support Executive) worked hard, with a constant flow of cars between 10.00am and 1.00pm, raising just under £300 for the charity. Community involvement is something the company is keen to promote at all sites and going forward the Retail Team is happy to help contribute time and energy to support dealers with similar initiatives.
The success of the event was greatly due to the support of dealers Brian and Ady Robinson and their fantastic temporary car wash set-up with ample room on site and the local community who donated generously. Drinks were kindly donated by SPAR.
