WHITWORTHS LAUNCHES ‘BRIGHT LITTLE NUTS’ – THE UK’S FIRST NUT SNACK FOR KIDS
Whitworths, the UK’s leading supplier of high quality dried fruit and nut snacking products has announced the launch of Bright Little Nuts a new range of single serve nut packs created for children aged 5+. The new line offers an exciting, alternative snacking option for kids, aiming to encourage healthier, natural, choices from a young age.
The 20g portion sized range has been specifically designed with kids in mind, so all nuts in the pack are either halved or mini in size, making them the perfect on-the-go snack for little ones. Nuts such as almonds, hazelnuts and cashews are naturally low in salt and sugar, and a natural source of protein and many other nutrients for muscle and bone development, aiding energy release and helping build a healthy immune system.
Nutritionist, Charlotte Stirling-Reed says: “Making sure that kids are eating healthily throughout the day can be hard, especially between meals. Although it might feel easier to reach for crisps and chocolate to keep them happy between meals, they can be full of bad fats, salts and sugars, meaning kids are missing out on a nutrients that help contribute towards muscle and bone development and aid energy release . Snacking on nuts like almonds, cashews and hazelnuts are not only a great way to keep them full in between meals, but also make sure they’re getting a good dose of fibre and protein as well as a host of vitamins and minerals.”
The Bright Little Nuts multipack will also include collectable cards. The ‘My Amazing Body’ series will feature facts, stats and games to provide an entertaining way for kids to learn about the human body. Including everything from the senses to how the brain works, the fun and educational cards ensure Bright Little Nuts helps develop mind, as well as body.

The launch of new Bright Little Nuts is being supported by a through the line campaign including national peer to peer sampling to get parents to inspire other parents to try the range, as well as an interactive website for kids to meet the on-pack characters, the Nutwings, and get a chance to learn more about their amazing bodies from specifically designed activities and games.
In addition, Whitworths are partnering with TV presenter, Celebrity Masterchef contestant and mum of two, Angellica Bell, to create video content to spark an engaging conversation on social and spearhead the campaign in encouraging other parents try the new range for themselves.
Whitworths Bright Little Nuts come in three varieties including mini cashews, almond halves and mini hazelnuts.
