Rio soft drink announces partnership with 2018’s youngest British Touring Car Championship driver Bobby Thompson
Tropical soft drink brand Rio has this week announced a partnership with British Touring Car Championship driver Bobby Thompson. “At 21, having just been given the huge accolade of BRDC Rising Star status, Bobby will be the youngest driver in the 2018 BTCC” comments Rio Brand Manager Danielle Obbard. “We are very excited about the partnership, which will give Rio exposure to a TV audience of over 20m throughout the summer BTCC season as well as considerable social media coverage”. Over 100,000 samples will be distributed to consumers at race events, in line with the brand’s focus on driving consumer trial. “More often than not when a consumer tries Rio for the first time they’re hooked, so we’re looking forward to the sampling campaign and to helping BTCC fans Celebrate the Sunny with Rio whilst supporting Bobby.”
“Rio very kindly gave us a whole pallet of Soft Drinks for us to give out at the Autosport International Show and the fans couldn’t get enough of it” comments Bobby who is delighted that Rio has come on board.
Consumer and trade competitions to win VIP tickets are also planned throughout the summer.
