As colder weather sets in, consumers increasingly seek rich, indulgent flavours as the fresher, fruitier tastes of summer are replaced. In 2016 luxury ice creams delivered £17m absolute sales growth[1] and both flavours are primed to tap into this trend, as consumers stay in more often throughout the autumn-winter season.

Rum Raisin, originally created and launched in the 80’s, went on to become an iconic flavour around the world. Made using plump whole raisins from California that have been soaked in Club Caribe Rum for 42 days, it provides for a rich, flavourful experience infused with just the right hint of warmth.

Salted Caramel Cheesecake delivers an indulgent remake of a US classic, packed full of sweet American Graham cracker crust and a gooey salted caramel sauce. The dessert-inspired flavour delivers a delectable mouth feel both with its taste and texture.

Arjoon Bose, UK and Northern Europe Marketing Head for Häagen-Dazs, said: “We are excited to be launching our seasonal editions that tie in perfectly with the autumn-winter occasion as well as meet the ever demanding British taste palate. Rum Raisin is one of our global cult classics and we’re sure its reintroduction will be popular among Häagen-Dazs fans. Salted Caramel Cheesecake is a marriage between two moreish flavours – the former being a major culinary trend of recent years – and we are excited to reveal this exciting innovation to consumers and shoppers tapping into ‘big night in’ occasions as winter approaches.

“We champion indulgence and premium quality and with Rum Raisin and Salted Caramel Cheesecake, we are now able to introduce an iconic as well as a re-imagined flavour set that bring to life our brand essence. We think our seasonal editions hit the spot as the perfect accompaniment to share on a crisp autumn wintery evening for the mixture of cold and warm that the occasion warrants.”
